U.P. residents from Baraga county to Chippewa County to Marquette County to Iron County arrested in separate cases for CSC, home invasion, five drugs arrests

(Marquette County, MI) – Residents of four Upper Peninsula Counties were jailed in Marquette, MI in past 36 hours involving mostly separate cases ranging from rape, to home invasion, to meth analogues and other drugs – plus two elderly men from western Marquette County were arrested – one for domestic violence and another for stalking.

Daniel Victor Larson of Gwinn, MI
A Gwinn man was arrested Wednesday night on a rape-related charge involving a K.I. Sawyer female under the age of 17.
40-year-old Daniel Victor Larson of Gwinn, MI was booked into the Marquette County Jail (MCJ) at 10:22 p.m. ET on Wed., Feb. 28, 2018.
Larson is charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct, a charged authorized by the office of Marquette County Prosecutor Matt Weise.
Forsyth Township Police Department officers investigated the sexual assault after it was reported on Feb. 6, 2018 at the 100 block of Crusader Street at K.I. Sawyer – the victim’s home where Larson was a guest.
Forsyth Township police were assisted by Child Protective Services, and Michigan State Police polygraph experts. The latter unit being a hint but it was never officially explained.
Bond has not been set.

70-year-old Charles Joseph Schwarz of Negaunee, MI was released on bond Wednesday afternoon after being arrested for stalking.
Schwarz was booked into the Marquette County Jail (MCJ) at 9:29 a.m. ET on Wed., Feb. 28, 2018 – and released on bond less than three hours later.
Schwarz was released on a $2,5000 bond for the stalking charge.
He formerly lived in Gaylord and Vanderbuilt, MI.

62-year-old Robert P. Pegenau of Ishpeming, MI booked into the Marquette County Jail (MCJ) at 10:15 p.m. ET on Tues., Feb. 27, 2018.
Pegenau is charged with domestic assault.
Pegenau was released Wednesday afternoon on a $5,000 bond.

Meth suspects are facing possible drug charges in connection with a domestic dispute call turned into an alleged one-pot meth lab and meth components Wednesday Night in Forsyth Township
The incident happened about 10:30 pm. Wed., Feb. 28, 2018 at 408 Packet Street involving a man and a woman.
Among those assisting on the scene were the UPSET drug team, Forsyth Township Police Department, Forsyth Township Volunteer Fire Department and Marquette County Rescue 131.
Police have not released the suspects names. Those arrested since the original call include:

46-year-old Ronald Gail Hesse, Jr. of Crystal Falls, MI booked into the Marquette County Jail (MCJ) at 10:07 a.m. ET on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
He also has past addresses in Iron Mountain plus downstate and Oregon.
Hesse is charged with possession of a controlled substance – an analogue, and contempt of court.
Bond for Hesse is set at just over $10,000. He was recently being held in the Dickinson County Jail.

Cindy Lou Knapp of Baraga, MI
60-year-old Cindy Lou Knapp of Baraga, MI booked into the Marquette County Jail (MCJ) at about 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
Knapp s charged with delivery/manufacture of a non-narcotic controlled substance.
Bond for Knapp has not been set.

John Daniel O’Neill of Ishpeming, MI
32-year-old John Daniel O’Neill of Ishpeming, MI booked into the Marquette County Jail (MCJ) at 5:06 a.m. ET on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
O’Neill is charged with second-degree home invasion and possession of marijuana.
Bond for O’Neill is set at $7,500.

John Lionel Lufkins of Brimley, MI
18-year-old John Lionel Lufkins of Brimley, MI booked into the Marquette County Jail (MCJ) at 1:26 a.m. ET on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
Lufkins is charged with possession of marijuana.
Lufkins formerly lived in Bay Mills.
Lufkins was released at 9:06 a.m. on a $2,500 bond.

Silas Dunn of Cedarville, MI
19-year-old Silas Joseph Dunn of Cedarville, MI was booked into the Marquette County Jail at 12:44 a.m. ET on Thurs., March 1, 2018
Dunn was charged with possession of marijuana and released on a $2,500 bond at 11:01 a.m.
