U.P. Breaking News has since learned the name of the victim – who lives at the home – is 25-year-old Daniel Niemi of Gwinn.
Niemi is the suspect’s ex-boyfriend and the couple reportedly have a child.
Witness Jessica Takalo states she did not videotape the incident. Its was dispatched that way – but the phone call was made by one of the victims and her message apparently got confused.
Remember the is a lot of confusion going on during the actual incident.

Home Invasion and Assault: Gwinn woman accused of breaking bathroom window and climbing inside to assault her ex-boyfriend – Injuries in alleged home invasion include being punched in the throat

(Gwinn, MI) – A Gwinn woman is accused of breaking through a bathroom window and allegedly assaulting his ex-boyfriend and his female friend.
The incident was reported about 3:35 a.m. ET on Sunday morning at a home on N. High Street in Austin Location (named for mine) near Gwinn.
One victim was punched in the throat, plus a bloody lip was reported. One of the victims, was ex-boyfriend Daniel (last name not confirmed) .- who was assaulted in the bathroom when the suspect allegedly broke the window and climbed inside.
21-year-old Rachel Elizabeth Kurian of Gwinn, MI was booked into the Marquette County Jail at 5:05 a.m. today, Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018.
Kurian is charged with three felonies – assault and battery, first degree home invasion and domestic assault.
Kurian allegedly assaulted “her boyfriend and another female,” the dispatcher told the numerous officers reporting to the call.
A witness, 20-year-old Jessica Takalo of Gwinn, Mi, reportedly told police she videotaped the incident.
Takalo reportedly said she and Kurian were in Palmer, MI – when Kurian asked for a ride to Gwinn.
***Takalo is now denying she has video – unclear why this is what was stated dispatcher:
Takalo took “video of her breaking the window,” the dispatcher said, adding an assaultive argument was underway involving numerous people.
Intoxicants were believed to be involved in the incident. The motive has not been released – whether it be revenge, anger or unrequited love – or a combination.
Bond for Kurian on two of the charges totals $12,500. Kurian is effectively being held without bond because no bail has been set on the assault and battery charge.

In a separate incident – a Delta County man was arrested this morning for an Escanaba area domestic violence case.
23-year-old Blake Knauf of Flat Rock, MI was booked into the Delta County Detention Center at about 3:30 this morning, Sunday, Jan., 28, 2018.
Knauf is charged with felony domestic violence.
Bond for Knauf is set at $1,000.
