Alleged Intoxicated Hit and Run Driver Facing Numerous Charges After Being Arrested When Negaunee Police Found The Suspected Vehicle Early This Sunday Morning After Damaging Restrooms Area of Negaunee Football Concessions Building

According to the Negaunee Booster Club and others the actual concession portion of the building wasn’t damaged but a hole was knocked in the restrooms under same roof:

“The vehicle hit the building behind our concession building.” The Booster Club reports. “The side hit was the ladies bathroom under the same roof technically but our stand wasn’t the area hit.”

(Negaunee, MI) -A 33-year-old Marquette County man is facing numerous charges after being arrested this morning in connection with a hit and run crash that damaged a building that is important to football and all school sports in Negaunee.

The man was taken into custody by Negaunee Police shortly after the discovery of his vehicle. He allegedly had crashed his doge pickup into the Concessions Building near Miner’s Dry – then allegedly fleeing the scene.

The suspect has been identified by several sources as 33-year-old Gerald Raymond Potvin, who remained lodged early today in the Marquette County Jail. Several addresses can be found reportedly connected to the suspect including city of Negaunee. The charges reportedly include failure to report an accident, failure to stop at the scene of a property damage accident and reckless driving.

The suspect may also face drunken driving charges after he allegedly failed a PBT test by allegedly blowing nearly three times the state legal limit for impaired driving.

The badly damaged pickup was found nearby by Negaunee Police. The damaged vehicle was found less than 30 minutes later at some apartments at 620 Everette Street off Prince St.

The loud crash was reported at 12:37 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 and authorities are looking for an Older Model Black Dodge Pickup Truck. The vehicle was leaking fluids, with heavy front end damage and other evidence left behind.

The vehicle hit the Negaunee Football Program Concessions Building located near the Miner’s Dry.
