(K.I. Sawyer International Airport) – It left shortly after noon today (Nov. 25, 2017) but left behind quite a chopper.

It is likely the South Korean helicopter is one of its very newest.

Cargo Plane by Mary FosterA massive Russian cargo plane landed at the K.I. Sawyer International Airport – and brought in a Korean helicopter for winter testing. Every winter Sawyer is used to test de-icing and other equipment – and use our cutting edge weather to help make those aircraft safe when they are deployed elsewhere.

Attempts to reach the airport manager at work and his cell have not yet been successful.

About 11:30 a.m., two law enforcement officers were discussing the plane. The sight was so impressive that one officer strongly encouraged his fellow officer to see the mega plane before it leaves (left) Sawyer.

The real ‘it’ never left.  Marquette residents have been promised many times before the original massive Soviet-era cargo jet will leave – but it became a media and courts super show since dropping in back in 2009 (and not leaving).
