(Munising, MI) – At least one person remains jailed today after a meth lab raid in Alger County on Friday, according to multiple sources.

Few details are known about the meth lab raid.

The raid happened on Friday, March 23, 2018.

Another said the raid was one of the main topics of discussion in Munising bars on Friday night.

The bust was said to be in the city of Munising.

It was one of several meth and illegal drug sales raids across the U.P. this week, including a huge bust in Marquette.

Officials had not released any info on the raid by Saturday afternoon.

40-year-old Hiedi Jean Rzanca of Munising, MI has been booked into the Alger County Jail.

Rzanca remained jail on Saturday.

Rzanca also has past addresses in other U.P. counties including the city’s of Gwinn and Escanaba, according to online tracking sites.

Rzanca is expected to faces charges related to operating a meth lab.

Rzanca is a single, stay-at-home mother, according to her Facebook page.

It is not clear how much alleged meth or meth components were confiscated.

Smoky Saturday night fire destroys a Munising Township house; minor injury to firefighter

(Wetmore, MI) – An Alger County home was destroyed by a fire Saturday night and there are late reports of a minor injury to a firefighter.

The blaze was reported about 7:15 p.m. ET tonight, Sat., Feb. 24, 2018 in Wetmore, MI.

The Munising Township Volunteer Fire Department was sent to 9402 Cedar St. in Wetmore, MI to an active structure fire.
The city of Munising Fire Department was the first requested as mutual aid.
About 15 minutes later, fire command requested two more fire departments for specialized support.

The Au Train Township Volunteer Department was called for specifically for a water tanker.
The Rock River Township Volunteer Fire Department was needed for air support – to refill air packs.

No one was inside the residence. About 9 p.m., Alger EMS was requested at the scene for a firefighters who fell. Details of the firefighter’s fall are not known – however the injury did not appear to be serious.

The cause of the fire has not been released. U.P. Breaking News is trying to confirm the names of the owners and occupants of the home.

Just to underline for clarity reasons, there is a Cedar St. in nearby Munising but this fire is in Wetmore. The Munising Fire Department was mutual aid.
