A Limo Gone Sad: From Dream Rides to Rust Bucket
By Greg Peterson, Upper Peninsula Breaking News
(Marquette, Michigan) – In recent years the sight of an occasional limousine around the Marquette area has become almost common.
But how often do you see a limo getting a ride of its own in Marquette County?
We spotted this limo on the back of a flatbed wrecker on Thursday (8-6-14) in Marquette Township.
It turns out the limo had been languishing behind a Harvey, MI home for a long time sitting and decomposing in tall grass – and is now officially a rust bucket.
From some angles the limo didn’t look too bad – but we’re told the entire undercarriage was rusted out – and the body had seen much better days. Scroll down to see more photos.
Now its in the old limo graveyard.
I remember as I kid I thought driving in a black limousine was cool – happened in Augusta when my dad took a job at Castleberry’s Foods.
I loved John Denver’s “Thank God I am a Country Boy”: “Yeah, city folk driving in a black limousine, a lotta sad people thinking that’s-a mighty keen.”
Then we won a trip to the NBA All-Star game in Vegas – and were treated like royalty by the NBA and with so many limos.
We’re not sure who the former Limo owner is – but we did a Google search for Limo services for Marquette, MI – in case you happen to want one.
