Some Upper Peninsula Law Enforcement agencies are trying to downplay the extremely bloody winter on Upper Peninsula Snowmobile Trails with many fatalities

Thurs., Feb. 15, 2018 in a remote area of Luce County way down the CCI Road then off County Road 407 (off the CCI Road) on snowmobile Trail Number 9

(Luce County, MI) – A major rescue was launched on Feb. 15, 2018 in remote Luce County to help a snowmobiler whose sled hit a tree traveling very fast.
The snowmobiler was seriously injured when his sled “hit head-on” with a tree doing about 60 miles per hour.
The crash was reported about 4 p.m. ET on Thurs., Feb. 15, 2018 in a remote area of Luce County
Among those responding with numerous first responders were the Luce County Ambulance and Michigan State Police. There was talk about launching a Valley Med Flight medivac chopper.
The wreck is said to be about 9 miles down the CCI road off County Road 407. Then about two miles in. It is believed to Snowmobile Trail #9.
The male victim is in critical condition.
