Another Kinross Inmate is Dead: Kinross Prison reported in state of fear and terror for both Michigan Corrections Officers and the Inmates following recent riot
Officials refuse to say what happened to latest dead inmate at Kinross
Kinross unrest and danger is a real and present danger to public, staff and prisoners in eastern U.P., our investigation shows

(Kinross, MI) – An ongoing investigation by U.P. Breaking News into reports of abuse of inmates – and of real danger to state corrections officers – has numerous sources reporting a state of fear, danger and retaliation at controversial prison in the eastern part of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
First the guy who died yesterday was no saint – a long record of crimes – but he was not sentenced to death by the jury. Yet he died yesterday under mysterious circumstances that may include lack of hydration.
Yesterday (Mon., 10-10-16), U.P. Breaking News reported that emergency medical officials were called to the prison to treat an inmate who was not responsive. Well, that inmate, Charles Lee Anderson, is dead.
He recently celebrated his 51st birthday.
His crimes are long and terrible, but sources familiar with the case say he should not have died yesterday.
We have left a message for the Kinross Warden – but he has not returned our calls.
Numerous sources report a state of fear and danger – that is felt by both inmates and corrections officers at Kinross. Recently state budget cuts in the Upper Peninsula have put lives at danger – and even led to numerous deaths, an investigation by U.P. Breaking News shows.
Without even hearing from state officials, U.P. Breaking News believes the state would deny the budget cuts have lead to deaths in the U.P. – so we are putting up their generic denial as a courtesy.
Remember while fires were set and a massive riot was underway, MDOC officials lied to reporters about how serious the recent riot was at Kinross. U.P. Breaking News has to post proof in the former of sate communications before state officials acknowledged a riot had happened. See our youtube page for the audio.
One source said the state is legally obliged to provide and strive for an environment that is safe to both inmates and corrections officers – which by the way – we have heard there are many good COs at Kinross who are also disgusted with how the prison has devolved into danger to staff and inmates.
Out investigation shows, we believe, that federal authorities need to raid Kinross asap before more deaths occur.
**State officials are urged to call U.P. Breaking News 906-273-2433. Please.
***U.P. Breaking News is also amazed that the union officials from the Michigan State Troopers and Corrections Officers Unions are not making the public aware of these dangers caused by budget cuts. I would not want to even live near the prison right now.

WOW. Are you capable of reporting the truth?? Or does that get in the way of telling your stories??

in what way – tell me how you think we are wrong.

No, this has already been discussed on this page when the riot happened. Like most news he only prints what will pull people onto his media site or benefit his agenda just like a convict will do or EXCONVICT.

We want the CO union to speak out – we want the state to release info – but it is fact – 100 percent – they lied about riot as it was happening.
Did you see the 11 pm TV news that night or the newspapers on Sunday – again regurgitated press releases. State did not admit riot until we were forced to make public the audio.
To claim we are anti cop or antiCO is burying your head in sand – we welcome what you say and what everyone has to say – but we are not just going to ignore something because officials will not comment.

I am not a convict or ex – and have always supported law enforcement – so your argument doesn’t hold water. We need and love our COs and cops – but boy do people like to complain without offering any kind of proof or dispute of actual facts. Pamela your comments are appreciated – even when critical – and we hope it helps to explain all sides – but it would help if you (or anyone connected with COs) would help provide facts and documents. To make blanet statements doesn’t help inform – tell us what you know and why. We want all points of view. Please. I beg you – get CO unions or COs or state or relatives to get involved in bringing information to light. We never divulge sources – for many many reasons – and because some are in fear. Its hard for us to report what people do not provide. You say the inmate died of heart attack – why wont state?

Please to Pamela Drew – and all others who might have any kinda of connection to prison system – we do want to give all sides. I sense you think we have an agenda. That is not true but we will not awaiting approval to run story via a press release.
If you want me to know something – call or email – I won’t release names unless the person is OK with it – but I talked to people who are fair and they say Kinross is on egg shells now.
So anything that happens we are willing to probe – and report – what reliable sources tells us – and I learned 40 years ago how to protect my sources.
See one problem is MDOC won’t comment – and if a CO did – he or she would be in trouble. So all COs – and I mean anybody – has nothing to fear if they contact me cause I will go to grave protecting sources. Ask the folks in Augusta, GA were my street cred started – and when I moved to the U.P. I was surprised on how much was not reported and that media often settles for a press release. I would too now if MDOC sent it – but one catch they need to state whether dehydration played a part in any other medical condition he may have had – and di he have heart attack – and why it was not reported as such to responding paramedics – was was he cold when found?.
I gave the warden about 18 hours to get back to me before I put out story. He could even have had communications folks to call or email me. Tho I really want to talk to the head of that dept about why he gave false info to the Associated Press during riot. I was the one who tipped off AP Detroit and Chicago. The AP guy on duty told me that MDOC spokesman has good rep within media – but then he mislead or lied to AP – ie the public that day last month.
So I beg of those who think we have agenda on any issue to not be afraid to contact us with better or new info etc. I am open to all ideas and information if from someone credible but how to I report what I am not told.
You would be surprised at some of our sources – and we never reveal. I hope y’all see this an an honest appeal for info. That’s why I welcome criticism and new information – anytime any day.
Maybe COs believe that conditions are fine at Kinross and staffing is at safe levels. We disagree but would believe a credible source.

AGAIN, I come on to this media circus to share the FACTS not the fiction. This convict died of a HEART ATTACK, thats right a medically sustained HEART ATTACK. So please stop with the fiction.

Pamela – who says that. Prison officials have not contacted us and we are very easy to contact

Also – the dispatch – I have on tape folks – did not say anything about heart attack – only unresponsive inmate. Wonder why that is – if heart attack was suspected it should have been reported – as any paramedic will tell you they respond differently to heart attacks. Even the call for extra help was vague. Notice we published the audio around the cop involved shooting – so we will be glad to publish this audio if you want. But was hoping state would get around to informing public. Also – we will publish anything that COs or state has to say – complain to them.

All they have to do is pick up the phone and answer the darn question…Why would they be *be afraid* to say he had a heart attack???Or did he???Thats all we want to know…THE TRUTH..Seems a little suspicious me me also that the COs and/or the State cant or WONT just answer the damm question?? I say..report it as you see it…curious here..Who said it was a heart attack??

Very poor journalism, way too much speculation for hype.

what speculation – we want answers – but can’t give em if the officials refuse – again nobody seems to want to be exact – tell us what is wrong – and how you know – and we will put it out there. Plus people can make all comments they want – I will only not approve vulgar comments – but we can handle the critics. Yoopers have become way to used to a “press release” society – regurgitated press releases. We will print what officials say – but will also tell the truth as we know it. If we are wrong – just tell us.

Talk about hype – maybe in that we offered a blanket denial on behalf of state when they did not respond – if there are Kinross COs who want to address our reporting – do it – have them speak out – or thru family as often happens. We want to hear from the COs.
If a CO gets hurt – don’t say we did not publish the warning that a dangerous situation exists at Kinross.
