The 11 year-old Luce County boy – being sought by Soo tribal officials after cutting his tether – is home safe tonight in Luce County.

He was found nearby in Luce County about 10:30 p.m. tonight, Sun. Nov. 26, 2017.

His 17-year-old brother remains at large – and was believed spotted in Chippewa County.

Wanted Luce County juveniles are now considered armed and dangerous – and in a stolen vehicle

The Luce County Sheriff’s department tonight issued a statewide lookout for a stolen vehicle and stolen weapons from the Newberry area – where two wanted juveniles are being sought including an 11-year-old boy who cut his tether and fled from a Sault Tribe Community Health residence.

Police say the suspects may have committed a “breaking and entering” at a residence and then allegedly stole a vehicle.

“The suspects are considered armed and dangerous,” states a statewide lookout for the suspects.
“Use caution when approaching the vehicle,” the BOLO states.

The suspects “stole a Winchester 30-30 caliber hunting rifle” – with a lever action with a scope.
Also stolen a .410 bolt action shotgun with a 5-round fully-loaded magazine and possibly more shells and ammo
The Gray 1990 Mazda pickup truck disappeared from a Luce County residence between 3:30 p.m and 5:30 p.m. today, Fri., Nov. 24, 2017.

The pickup has an expired handicapped tag
That handicapped tag is 1354K41

The suspects have the keys to the truck. Vehicle only had two-gallons of gas in its fuel tank.

Soo Tribe Police looking for a runaway 11-year-old who cut off his tether early today in Newberry
A broadcast was issued in Chippewa and Luce counties for the youth.

U.P. Breaking News is withholding the boy’s name and that of his 17-year-old brother who is wanted on unrelated charges.

The pair may be traveling together. The boy left in an unknown direction and officials do not know his means of travel.
It’s not clear why the child was wearing the tether and fled from a residence he was living in Newberry, MI The boy was wearing a tether but “cut it off” before leaving the residence.
