(Upper Peninsula of Michigan) – It was an alcohol and drug fueled start to the weekend across the Upper Peninsula with several people taken to the hospital and others arrested on assault and drug charges including another methamphetamine bust.

Examples of the intoxicated craziness in Marquette included several incidents that police, firefighters and paramedics were called to respond.

Early today, a 20-year-old female who was found unconscious on the second floor landing at the 906 Sports Bar and Grill in Marquette. She was still unconscious while being rushed to the hospital. The victim’s friend said she was unsure if the highly-intoxicated young woman fell down the stairs – or dropped to the ground at the stairwell landing.

On Friday night, emergency officials were called to an intoxicated, injured and stressed out man on the fifth floor of the old Marquette orphanage on Altamont Street – that is now refurbished apartments. Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to help an injured intoxicated man whose arm was bleeding after he had been repeatedly pounding and kicking on an apartment door – apparently trying to find his residence.

Meanwhile in Alger County, a bloodied, black-eyed man is his 20s was assaulted and found “gasping for air” laying in the parking lot of a Trenary bar. The names of two popular bars were mentioned, however it was unclear which nightspot the incident occurred. He was treated by emergency officials. U.P. Breaking News is not sure if arrest has been made.

Plus at one of the U.P. casinos early today, management called police about two parents who were leaving young kids alone in their hotel room while they partied and gambled.

In the Marquette area Friday night, one man was arrested on about a dozen charges after police and undercover officers stopped at least one vehicle that tried to flee the unmarked police car that finally stopped at
Wright Street and Woodland Avenue,
There was also investigations at several addresses on/along Woodridge Avenue and another nearby location.

37-year-old Benjamin Thomas Rose of Marquette, MI was booked into the Marquette County Jail (MCJ) on warrants from numerous police agencies at 10:12 p.m. ET on Friday night, March 16, 2018.
The charges against Rose include assault and battery, illegal use of a non-narcotic controlled substance, second degree retail fraud, malicious destruction to a building with damages between $200 and $1,000, unlawful use of a motor vehicle/joyriding, driving an unregistered vehicle, and second-offense driving with a suspended/revoked license.
Bond has not been set on all the of the charges, however so far it totals at least $20,000 and likely more.
Rose has other convictions including a 2015 arrest for third-offense driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated/impaired by liquor or under the influence of drugs, and a 2002 bust for third-offense OUIL.

Barrett is charged with domestic assault.
Bond for Barrett has not been set.

Jenerou and Glasscock

A Manistique couple – who are dating – were both arrested in Delta County last night on several felony charges.

27-year-old Samantha Jo Jenerou of Manistique, MI was booked into the Delta County Detention Center (DCDC) at 11:34 p.m. ET on Friday night, March 16, 2018.

Jenerou is being held as a fugitive/parole hold.
Jenerou is jailed without bond.
In Jan. 2013, Jenerou was sentenced to at least four years in prison for a string of burglaries in Schoolcraft County.
Jenerou said her life of crime started when she became addicted to drugs while depressed.
Jenerou faced 11 felonies in Schoolcraft County for the 2012 burglaries, however under a plea bargain she pleaded guilty to first-degree home invasion, second-degree home invasion and third-degree home invasion.
She was paroled from state prison in June 2016.

Glasscock is charged with possession of methamphetamine and carrying a concealed weapon.

A convicted sex offender who is out of prison serving probation in Delta County – has been arrested for violating his probation.

25-year-old Alec Jeffrey VanEnkevort of Escanaba, Mi was booked into the DCDC at 11:08 p.m. ET on Friday night, March 16, 2018.

VanEnkevort is being held as a fugitive/probation violation. VanEnkevort is jailed without bond.

VanEnkevort, then 20 years old, was convicted of a Jan. 2012 fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) by force or coercion that occurred in Delta County. He admitted raping a woman in Wells Township.

VanEnkevort was released from state prison on probation in Nov. 2013.
VanEnkevort will remain on probation until at least Nov. 26, 2918.

(Marquette, MI) – A disgraced member of the Hannahville Indian Community will be at least 64 years old before he is released from federal prison for molesting a child.

Patrick Roy Wandahsega 240-year-old Patrick Roy Wandahsega of Wilson, MI was sentenced to 24 years (288 months) in prison by U.S. District Judge Paul L. Maloney.

Wandahsega molested a six-year-old child at his Wilson home.

The tiny child reported the abuse to relatives, who contacted tribal police and a doctor.

Wandahsega was indicted by a federal grand jury on two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, and abusive sexual conduct involving young children – and was convicted of the second felony by a jury in Marquette on October 27, 2017 after a four day jury trial.

U.S. Attorney Andrew Byerly Birge said the case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse.

Federal prosecutors worked with county and tribal prosecutors and the Internet Crimes Against Children task force (ICAC) to arrest those who abuse and exploit children.
