(Marquette, MI) – A Wisconsin man sentenced to probation last year in a very big Mexican meth cartel case involving hundreds of pounds the highly addictive drug – is now in trouble in Marquette County, MI.
37-year-old Jacob A. Porath of LaCrosse, WI was booked into the MCJ at 9:36 p.m. Monday night, Feb. 5, 2018.
Porath is charged with third-degree retail fraud. The location of the alleged theft has not been released.
Michigan Law: Third-degree retail fraud is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 93 days in jail and/or $500 fine (or 3 times the value of the difference in price, property stolen, or money/ property obtained, whichever is greater

Not sure why he has bond set – when his Wisconsin meth probation was allegedly violated by his arrest in Marquette, Michigan
Porath was among 17 people busted in 2015 in meth trafficking ring that imported hundreds of pounds of high-grade methamphetamine manufactured by Mexican drug cartels into La Crosse and surrounding Wisconsin counties.
Police recovered large amounts of methamphetamine, guns, and money during the probe.
Last year, Porath was sentenced to three years probation – while others received heavy prison sentences.
