The GHOST LETTER from the dead inmate

If everything is kosher at Marquette Branch Prison, what are they afraid of?

Will Michigan State Police release a questionable statement on the death of a Marquette inmate – or will there be suspensions, firings and/or arrests?

The Marquette Branch Prison warden should resign immediately if this is covered up

Did U.P. Breaking News report the death before apparently panicking prison officials called 911?

Plus Michigan State Police detectives have gall to tell mother of inmate that U.P. Breaking News did not witness the excited utterances of a panicked prison employee

If the prison staff performed CPR – how do MSP know the exact position of the body when it was found?

(Marquette, MI) – A Michigan State Police detective told the mother of a young but dead prison inmate that her son died from as freak one-of-a-kind accident in his segregation cell at the Marquette Branch Prison.

Yet these alleged life-threatening segregation cells at Marquette Branch Prison remain in use today.

mdoc-dead-prisoner-derrik-joseph-siminski-4The mother was also told that the inmate was checked on employees of the short-staffed prison numerous times in the minutes before the death.

Officials say they are awaiting the results of an autopsy that was performed Nov. 2, 2016 on the prisoner – who was assigned to the highest security – Level 5 – which has nothing to do with a person’s crime but rather how they have behaved while in prison.

30-year-old inmate Derrik Siminski of Saginaw was found in cardiac arrest about 5 p.m. on Nov. 1, 2016, in the highest level of security at the state’s toughest prison on the shores of Lake Superior.

“They told me my son died accidentally,” said said Serena Daniels, Siminksi’s mother, who dismissed any thoughts her son would commit suicide.

So far experts contacted by U.P. Breaking News and the inmate’s family have been puzzled at what happened – and find a freak accident in a segregation cell unlikely.

Daniels said a Michigan State Police Detective tried to convince her that everything reported by U.P. Breaking News was impossible – like hearing the frantic excited utterances of a staff member who asked the doctor to declare her son dead.

In addition, the MSP detective claimed her son was regularly checked on. She spoke to her son about an hour and a half before his body was discovered.

The detective told the inmate’s mom that – somehow – someway – Derrik Siminski fell over backwards off a bench/chair in his cell.

Siminski has a long history of infection issues and his swollen leg would have prohibited him from moving around – or wanting to move too much, she said.

In fact, Daniels was shocked to see the photos of her son’s body because his legs remained extremely swollen – and apparently his condition was not properly treated by prison staff.

“Why weren’t they helping him,” she asked.

Below are photos of the grossly swollen legs of the dead Marquette inmate:

mdoc-dead-prisoner-derrik-joseph-siminski-1Daniels received a Ghost Letter from her son just days after her death. Daniels had good and bad days – and spending much time crying, Thanksgiving was especially difficult, and she is puzzled why the state police would cover up for the Michigan Department of Corrections.

“I don’t know what to believe,” she said. “But everyone I have asked says it would be impossible to died accidentally by falling off his bench or bed.”

“I just want to know the truth about my son’s death, that’s not too much for a mom to ask,” Daniels said. “My son loved life and wanted to live.”

Below is a portion of a painful but gladly received ghost letter from a dead inmate to his mother – that arrived days after the 30-year-old died at the Marquette Branch Prison:

She said MSP detective claimed her son’s air way passage was somehow blocked by the position he fell – and he did not suffer a broken neck.

“I talked to him every day and he sounded fine,” she said

If the prison has discovered the segregation cells are dangerous to inmate’s health, its unclear why the unit remains open this morning.

I feel my son was taken from me,” said Serena Daniels, Siminksi’s mother.

I talked to him every day and he sounded fine,” Daniels said, adding the entire event is made even more painful because her daughter Katrina – the inmate’s sister – is suffering from a terminal kidney disease. “And now he is dead.”

Siminski’s family have set up a gofundme page to raise money to offset the expenses of a funeral home that kindly helped the family get the inmate’s body and cremated his remains.

The dead Marquette Branch inmate was convicted of larceny, plus the production and distribution of marijuana in downstate Ogemaw County – near the Lower Peninsula towns of Rose City and West Branch.

U.P. Breaking News stands by its reporting that no ambulance was called – and after about 50 minutes of allegedly conducting CPR – prison officials asked a U.P. Health System-Marquette doctor to pronounced the inmate dead via radio – sight unseen.

When informed of these facts, a prison spokesman declined comment saying the matter is now a Michigan State Police investigation. It was the same spokesman who repeatedly6 denied a riot had taken place at the riot-torn Kinross.

Many of those inmates have been shipped to other prisons and there well-being is not known as prison reform advocates say they have disappeared into the system.

(Marquette Branch Prison, Michigan) – Last night’s death of an inmate where the state sends their worst prisoners – is the latest in a series of questionable deaths in the past year involving the lack of proper medical care of Michigan inmates

Today’s “emergency” at the Marquette Branch Prison was a monthly drill not connected to last night’s death of young maximum security prisoner at Michigan’s toughest prison, according to MDOC Spokesperson Chris Gautz.

Gautz claims today’s emergency message on the prison’s main telephone line was only a drill.

When pressed why police stated they had not been informed about a drill – Gautz said prison officials never notify Michigan State Police or any police agency prior to the monthly drills.

Meanwhile – he refused to release the name of a 30-year-old maximum security inmate who apparently died in his cell last night.

“Michigan State Police were on the scene last night,” Gautz said.

Officials say they are awaiting the results of an autopsy that was performed this afternoon (Nov. 2, 2016) on the prisoner – who was assigned to the highest security – Level 5 – which has nothing to do with a person’s crime but rather how they have behaved while in prison.

Eastern U.P. chimney fire should be strong warning for all of us now that the snow flies

Rudyard chimney fire is an example for ever last Upper Peninsula resident who enjoys a delightful winter fire – or just to feel cozy when winter seems endless

The Upper Peninsula winter is officially here with a howl – and last winter was long

So clean your chimney today – get dirty or hand over the green – just do it!

(Marquette, Michigan) – Today’s chimney fire in Chippewa County and the snowstorm are huge flashing signs – clean your chimney today!

Every year hundreds of chimney fires are reported across the Upper Peninsula.
Sometimes by people who thought they could go one more season without a chimney cleaning. Just one more U.P. winter without having to do the dirty work – or pay for it.

There are so many ways for your chimney to be plugged – my way back in the day grandfather lost a finger in Foster City as they used anvils then to clean chimneys.

His hand/fingers were hit by the anvil- and in those days rushing to a hospital in Iron Mountain was a pretty huge and difficult affair (Harry John Peterson, son of Swan Peterson).

So all you geniuses with a better way to clean your chimney please be careful – and many get hurt every year falling from roofs in the U.P. – whether cleaning a chimney or pushing snow off their roof.

Cleaning chimneys is important because its the lives of your family at stake – and your life – and sometimes chimney fires spread to the house – or severely damage a home.

It’s not always the size of the fire but noxious fumes and smoke that makes a sleepy person drift off into death. Or severe brain damage. Even fighting a chimney fire is a messy affair and can increase the damage – while saving the home.

On Sunday afternoon, Sun., Nov. 20,2016 the Kinross Township Volunteer Fire Department was sent to a chimney fire in in the eastern U.P.

The residence e is reportedly occupied by the family of 53-year-old Andrew G. Gable and Jennifer A. Gable at 15918 S. Johnson Road in Rudyard, MI
