(Germfask, MI) – Numerous fire departments have been paged for mutual aid to help battle a large house fire in Schoolcraft County.

The blaze is reported East Edge Road near M-77. No injuries have been reported. Responding out town mutual aid have been warned not to get their firetrucks stuck in deep snow. The blaze was reported about 6:30 p.m. ET.

“Back your tankers in here (down the driveway) and leave your pumpers on the road,” warned the chief at the “Germfask Fire Command,” due to the snow.

“This is fully engulfed – there is no roof left – its all walls – it’s gone,” said the fire firefighter on the scene. “We are on East Edge road – about one quarter mile down.”

Details are not known – but first indications are it is a home engulfed in flames on East. Edge Road in the Germfask, MI area of Schoolcraft County. It’s also known as the Blaney Boundary Line on the east side of M-77.

“I can see the fire, I am heading down East End Road,” said one of the responding firefighters.

Fire officials have requested UPPCO on the scene.

The dispatcher told firefighters that a neighbor spotted the blaze.

The neighbor “says she can see flames coming out of the house.”
The exact names of the fire departments who answered the mutual aid call has not been officially released – though its believed some are from Gould City and Seney.
