An Escanaba woman – who was to be sentenced today for the theft of a safe and a gun from a Bark River home – is now booked on an obstruction of justice charge – and it is not clear if it was connected to her sentencing today.
Kasey Stoerck Rudden FB 1Former Hooters girl 32-year-old Kasey Marie Rudden of 2720 8th Avenue South in Escanaba, MI was booked into the Delta County Detention Center (DCDC) at about 4 p.m. today, Mon., Dec. 11, 2017 on a charge of obstruction of justice. No bond has been set.
Rudden is one of two Escanaba residents charged breaking into a Bark River home on 17th Road and stealing a safe and pistol.

Rudden was originally charged second-degree home invasion, a 15-year felony, and possession of burglary tools (a hammer, punch bar, and screwdrivers), a 10-year felony, in connection with the incident which occurred sometime between May 1-10.
Rudden had been free on a $50,000 bond (10 percent $5,000 cash) until today when she was taken back into custody.
Rudden was to be sentenced today (12-11-17) after entering into a plea agreement and pleading guilty to one count of larceny in a building and one count of lying to a peace officer investigating a four-year felony.

Lying to a police officer is obstruction of justice. If anyone knows what her sentence was – or what happened today, please contact U.P. Breaking News.
Rudden goes by the name Kasey Stoerck on Facebook. On Facebook, the San Diego, CA native also claims to be a former Hooters girl, bartender and trainer.

The other suspect is 34-year-old Trenton Jay Fitch of 3881 L.15 Lane in Escanaba, MI. Fitch pleaded guilty to an accessory charge for accepting the gun from Rudden – and was sentenced last week to six months in jail – and given credit for serving a month and was ordered to pay over $2,000 in fines/costs and restitution.

A judge ordered Rudden to no contact Fitch or the two homeowners. She also had other restrictions like no drinking, no illegal drugs, must submit to random drug testing and confined to home between the hours of 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
In July 2017, Rudden pleaded guilty in Delta County District Court to unlawful use of a license plate; $325 fines and costs.

Gavin Warner

Gavin Warner

Booked are 19-year-old Gavin Warner and 24-year-old Dennis John Reese of 1226 N. 19th Street in Escanaba, MI

In Dec. 2016, Reese crashed his vehicle into a utility pole in Escanaba causing power outages at nearby restaurants. Reese was charged with drugged driving, possession of marijuana, and possession of a contraband in jail.

Reese was charged charged with five-year felony prisoner possessing a contraband in jail after police found drugs on him during booking.

Reese was the driver of a pickup truck that crossed the center-line at a high rate of rate of speed on 1st Avenue North near North Lincoln Road – and during the wreck collided with a parked, unoccupied vehicle and crashed into a utility pole.

Reese pleaded guilty in Feb 2017 and was sentenced to probation on one count of operating while intoxicated and one count of possession of analog drugs. The wreck into the utility pole knocked out power to Wendy’s, Hudson’s, and Elmer’s restaurants.
The costs of the damage involve about $45,000 in restitution.

gavin_warner FB 1Warner was one of the two teens arrested in August 2016 for methamphetamine possession and manufacturing meth within 500 feet of a school zone.
Warner was sentenced to participate in Michigan’s Holmes Youthful Trainee Act (HYTA) after pleading guilty to one count of meth possession and maintaining a drug house.

Warner and a Bark River man were busted by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and the Escanaba Department of Public Safety.

The charges against Warner stem from an Aug. 8, 2016 incident in Escanaba involving a co-defendant who was also arrested in conjunction with the meth bust.

Both were sentenced under the Holmes Youthful Training Act – under which convictions are removed from the records if the probation and release terms are completed successfully.
