About 30 Ishpeming High School Students Escape Injury During House Fire While Building High School Freshman Hematite Homecoming Float: Homecoming is This Friday Against Norway – Listen to homeowner, Students and a Parent in Video of Fire

About 30 Ishpeming High School Freshman were building a homecoming float  tonight when a fire broke out in the home above the garage they were working in.
There were no injuries but several worried parents showed up to make sure their kids were OK.
The fire was at 118 W. Barnum St. occupied by Scott Smith, his wife and 14 year old daughter who is an Ishpeming High School Freshman.
The floats were saved but the home received major smoke damage and fire damage.
The Marquette County Rescue Squad Unit 131 assisted on th scene along with Ishpeming Police.
