The victim in that fatal crash early Sunday morning in Ishpeming, MI has been identified as 52-year-old William Ernest Sharon III of Ishpeming.

He celebrated his 52nd birthday on March 1.
Sharon was driving the side-by-side north of N. 7th St. when he lost control, and his vehicle hit a tree, throwing the victim into the roadway.

Police are still investigating what caused the crash.

Sharon has previously lived in Negaunee and Marquette.

In April 2016, Sharon, then 50, of 712 E. Empire St. in Ishpeming was sentenced 46 days in jail, 18 months probation and to pay fines/costs of nearly $800.

Sharon pleaded guilty to third-offense domestic violence.

Meanwhile Sharon also pleaded guilty to another third-offense domestic violence charge in connection with an assault in Sept. 2011 for which he reportedly received a two year sentence.

Michigan State Police Accident Investigator, Ishpeming Police are probing a fatal ORV accident that happened very early Sunday morning

(Ishpeming, MI) – Police are investigating a fatal ORV crash in the city of Ishpeming, MI that happened early Sunday morning.

The off-road vehicle (ORV) crash was reported about 12:15 a.m. ET, this morning, April 15, 2018.
A specially-trained Michigan State Police Accident Investigator from the Negaunee Post have joined Ishpeming Police in investigation.

An Ishpeming Police officer apparently rolled up on the crash just as it happened.

The shaken officer could be heard pleading for an ambulance, knowing that the male victim had no pulse and very serous head injuries. It sounds like the ORV flipped many times and was destroyed in the wreck.

The crash has closed North 7th Street in the city of Ishpeming as accident investigators begin a long night of trying to reconstruct the crash.

The Ishpeming Fire Department is assisting and paramedics arrived in an ambulance from U.P. Health System–Bell
It is not clear if another vehicle was involved in the wreck.
The identity of the victim likely won’t be released for several hours or more.

  1. Posting his time in jail is irrelevant to the fact he has passed! Why you rubbing salt in old wounds. Do you honestly think his friends and family want that crap in this article! Pretty low thing to do. The man passed away! Leaving a son and a daughter! You think they want you saying this things! Have a little respect!


    • I do not write story for the family. Nothing about crash or story would make family happy Plus his was not small record – at least 5 DV convictions- and we have no tolerance on DV. Facts are Facts.
