Baraga gunman false call?: Baraga Police, L’Anse Police, KBIC Tribal Police and the Baraga County Sheriff’s Department and other agencies looking for man with gun in Baraga

(Baraga, MI) – About ten police cars from numerous agencies converged on an area in Baraga this afternoon looking for a man with a gun.
At last report, police think it might have been a false report – as hoaxes to police agencies also caused problems in the Aurora, WI area with false reports of plane crash, shooting, stabbing and murder.
The search began about 2:35 p.m. ET this afternoon, Wed., March 28, 2018.
U.P. Breaking News held this story until the officers were safe and made a decision to stop manhunt.
Police surrounded an area on the 300 block of Spruce St and near the Ojibwa Tribal Housing.
One report put the gunman at 323 Spruce St.
“Is the house empty,” asked one officer.
One officer called it the “four corners area” in the “projects” in Baraga after a report of a man with a gun.
“There are a lot of people outside,” one officer said.
Those involves in incident include Baraga Police, L’Anse Police, KBIC Tribal Police and the Baraga County Sheriff’s Department.
Another warned to “stay out of the line of fire.”
An officer said officials are will “block off the whole area until we know what is going on.”
About 3:25 p.m., officers decided it was a false report.
