(Marquette, MI) – Marquette Police are searching for a car and its occupants who led them on a chase through city streets early today.
The car is described as a black or dark-colored sedan.
The only other description of the sedan is:
Two upper taillights on outside – and two bottom taillights on inside”
The chase began around 1:25 a.m. ET early Saturday morning, March 24, 2018.
The suspect almost collided with a Marquette Police officer – and that started the chase.
The 60-mph chase wound around several streets including the Northern Michigan University campus, and near the U.P. Health System-Marquette hospital.
The streets included Lee Drive, Tracy Street, Seventh Street and Fourth Street.
The suspect blew through numerous intersections without slowing putting many lives in danger. It is unclear if the suspect was drunk, high on drugs or both.
The suspect vehicle is headed north “through campus,” said one officer. The suspect is going “back towards the hospital – circling back.”
“That was the vehicle who tried to cut me off,” said a Marquette Police officer.
A second Marquette officer agreed and said she saw him driving reckless.
Zooming down Fourth street, officers lost sight of the sedan when it turned onto one of the side streets.
“I don’t have the vehicle in sight anymore,” said an officer, obviously disappointed police did not immediately catch the reckless driver.
If there was more than one rider in the black sedan – then the word will spill out. Two people cannot keep a secret. Better to come clean.
If you have any information about the vehicle or its occupants – please call Marquette Police or 911.
